New Soul

I'm not one to believe that everything happens for a reason.
I do think that some things happen in order to lead you to something else.
But I certainly don't think everything can be attributed to reason.

That being said...
My last post described our disappointment
but what we didn't realize at the time was that disappointment was merely
a stepping stone -
a door that needed opening -
so that we could experience the most precious gift to come:

Cy Colton
While we had started the adoption process again,
I was looking primarily for a situation in FL.
Rio's birth mother contacting the agency did several things...
1) it got our butts in gear to get our home study done toot sweet.
2) it got us back in touch with the agency that would bring us to Cy.
3) it prepared us for an imminent arrival.

We found out about Cy's birth mother on March 1st
She chose us on March 2nd
and our boy was born on March 3rd. Talk about a whirlwind!
She is the sweetest girl in the world and
we were thrilled to be able to spend time with her,
get to know her and one of her children,
and learn all the wonderful things about her that
we'll be able to pass on to Cy!

We thank our lucky stars and Rio's birth mother for bringing us to Cy and his birth mother.

We spent two weeks in Utah (more on that later) and we're finally home!

Life moves in mysterious ways, doesn't it?

I can't say congrats big enough for you. What an amazing story and what a GORGEOUS little lovie.

It's such an odd sensation since we don't really know each other, but I couldn't be happier for you!

  3. I'm such a dork...I started crying again when I told my husband about Cy and came back to show him the pics.

He really is just so gorgeous, and not to be all new-agey, but he looks like a really sweet soul. :)

  4. He is! I was so worried about having another baby - I felt so lucky with Rio that I was sure I'd have a colicky baby or a fussy baby, but he is incredibly laid back!
Thanks again for your comments, they mean a lot to me!

  7. AMAZING!!!!

Of my gosh, both of your kiddos are just darling! I thought our adoption ride was a whirlwind. Man, we've got nothing of you guys!

We found out about our baby girl six weeks before she was born. ...Which gave us the opportunity to spend some time with our birthmom - I'm so thankful for that! She is SUCH a sweetie. And, like you said, now we'll be able to pass on wonderful stories to Eliza.

Anyway, I feel like I know you and I thought it was high-time I jump on here and say hi! ((hugs))
